Soprano Laura Ethington, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, is a highly sought‐after Boston performer. Ms. Ethington was the winner of the MetroWest Opera Competition where she also made her role debut as Mimi in their groundbreaking production of La Femme Boheme. She has received the honors of Runner‐up for the American Prize, and Western Regional and Eastern Regional Finalist at Classical Singer. She has sung with companies such as Boston Lyric Opera, Odyssey Opera, Opera on Tap, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and most recently made her debut with the Boston Wagner Society. Her past projects include the title role of Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride, Female Chorus in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia, Lady Billows in Britten's Albert Herring, and the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica. Ms. Ethington was involved with the world premiere performances of The Ourboros Trilogy with The Beth Morrison Projects. Ms. Ethington is an Alumnus of The Boston Conservatory, the Caramoor Bel Canto festival in New York City, and Musiktheater Bavaria. Ms. Ethington has recently relocated to New York City to further pursue her operatic career where she has performed with multiple local companies and the New York Musical Festival. Prior to COVID-19, she was to perform her first Helmwige while covering Brunnhilde in Die Walkurie in DC set for this spring, as well as compete in the Gerda Lissner Wagner competition. Ms. Ethington has found success in combining opera and stand-up comedy with colleagues and friends around the United States.
